Come March, our “drawers of magic” are almost filled to the brim with new releases.
But we’ve gone out of our way to made some room for the latest additions. The new model of an all-time favourite TaylorMade iron has arrived, while a fresh Aretera shaft — launched as the result of quite some controversy — is also available. And finally, there’s some Wilson Dynapwr to get excited about…
Here’s a taste of what’s ready and waiting for you at GolfBox Custom this month.
TAYLORMADE P790 IRONS
The TaylorMade P790 is the king of the player’s-distance iron category, having led the way since its inception in 2017.
Now, the latest 2025 edition of the P790 iron has touched down at GolfBox Custom. And our Master Fitters have had an early peek to confirm it’s a spicy upgrade on the previous model.
From the outside, the player’s iron looks have been amplified in the new P790, with a thinner topline offering a cleaner look at address.
But it’s inside the hollow-bodied P790 head where TaylorMade have put their foot on the accelerator. The 2025 P790 retains much of the core technology that has made it the game’s pre-eminent player’s-distance iron but it's now faster and longer, delivers better feel, and offers more consistent gapping through the set.
It starts with the P790's face, forged from a new steel called 4340M. It’s 20 per cent stronger, which meant TaylorMade could make a thinner face to expand the sweet spot by an incredible 24 per cent. The result is more speed and forgiveness from every part of the face.
TaylorMade’s FLTD CG head design has also been optimised for every loft, with extra tungsten employed to tune performance precisely. The new FLTD CG design shifts the CG lower in the long irons, to promote a higher trajectory and easier launch, while the shorter irons feature a higher CG that brings launch down a fraction to optimise spin rates and improve control.
Meanwhile, the feel and sound of the new P790 iron has been elevated by a new internal sound stabilisation bar. It reduces unwanted vibrations and together with TaylorMade’s SpeedFoam internal filler, produces a player’s iron level of feel and feedback.

ARETERA EC1 SHAFTS
The new Aretera EC1 is the replacement for Aretera’s Alpha One shaft, which was effectively banned from production after a competitor launched legal action.
Anyway...
If you haven’t heard of Aretera yet, here’s what you need to know.
Aretera is the passion project of Alex Dee, the man responsible for many of Fujikura’s most popular shafts. Alex is the man when it comes to inventing new shaft technology and Aretera is pushing the boundaries with the new EC1.
The EC1 shaft features Control Centr technology, Aretera’s new process of layering carbon fibre. Control Centr technology enabled Aretera to spec an innovative new soft mid-section in their EC1 shaft, which is complemented by a firmer butt and tip. The EC1 design is said to distribute force evenly and direct more energy into the ball at impact, while offering superb feel and a higher launch trajectory.
Aretera’s EC1 range is simple, with just two models: Blue and Grey.
The shafts are identical except for the stiffness of the tip, with the EC1 Grey 10 per cent stiffer than the EC1 Blue.
While our customers can still be fitted at GolfBox Custom for Aretera's Alpha One shaft until stocks run out, the EC1 is a more than effective replacement.

WILSON DYNAPWR FAIRWAYS, HYBRID AND IRONS
Wilson’s new Dynapwr driver range arrived last month. Now the new Dynapwr fairway woods, hybrids and irons have joined them at GolfBox Custom.
Dynapwr fairways are split into two models: a Carbon and Max. The Carbon is the lower-spinning model that features a carbon crown, while the Max is the more forgiving model. The new Dynapwr hybrid is one of the fastest and longest we’ve seen, thanks to a new A.I.-designed face and low CG.
Meanwhile, two new Wilson Dynapwr iron models are designed to suit a wide range of players.
The standard Dynapwr iron features a hollow-bodied design and is the more compact model. The Dynapwr Max iron is larger and features a more forgiving cavity back design. An Open Hosel feature also shifts mass away from the heel to the sole and toe to boost forgiveness.
