WELCOME TO THE MATRIX: FEBRUARY — 2025 NEW RELEASES
Posted On
February 5, 2025

It’s been a blistering start to 2025 at GolfBox Custom as a tsunami of new releases flow into the fitting drawers.

The TaylorMade Qi35, Callaway Elyte and Srixon ZXi families have touched down, along with a new GT1 addition from Titleist. Our talented team of Master Fitters have been impressed thus far, putting all of them under the microscope to ascertain their performance.

Which one will transform your game in 2025? Our data-driven fitting process will provide the unequivocal answer.

Here's everything you need to know about what's arrived in '25 at GolfBox Custom. Leave the fitting to us...

TAYLORMADE Qi35

From the outset, it’s abundantly clear TaylorMade’s new Qi35 family is geared for the fitting studio.

Not just because the Qi35 driver line-up offers four models — the standard Qi35 driver, the Qi35 Max, Qi35 LS and Qi35 Max Lite. And not just because all four models utilise a truckload of carbon fibre and a new TAS (Trajectory Adjustment System) weighting design that helps us fine tune head dynamics to match your swing and make you longer and straighter off the tee.

It's because they have built-in reflective markers on the driver face that are picked up by our premium Foresight GCQuad launch monitor. It gives our fitters super-accurate face data from the get-go and eliminates the need for stickers to be affixed to the face. It’s a small thing but our fitting staff sure appreciate TaylorMade’s initiative. Anyway…

The standard Qi35 driver, with a front-and-back TAS weighting configuration, should offer the widest-reaching performance profile, while the compact Qi35 LS is the low-spin model. It has twin TAS weights on the front of the sole that can also bias ball flights.

Meanwhile, the oversized Qi35 Max is designed for higher-launching, higher-spinning drives and boasts the highest MOI. And finally, the Qi35 Max Lite features a lighter head weight to help slower swing speed players maximise club head speed.

The TaylorMade Qi35 family also includes fairway woods and hybrids (or Rescues as TaylorMade call them) that can also be custom fit at GBC.

CALLAWAY ELYTE

Our Master Fitters are confident all the new bits and bobs that make up Callaway’s Elyte driver range will elevate performance for everyone who plays the game.

A new Thermoforged crown and A.I.-designed face are the centrepiece technologies of the new Callaway Elyte driver line-up, complemented by a head shape that is more aerodynamically efficient and a new discrete weighting system.

Callaway serve up four models: the standard Elyte driver, the draw-biased Elyte X, the ultralight Elyte Max Fast, and the compact Elyte Triple Diamond.

Testing in the GolfBox Custom fitting studio has confirmed speed gains and tighter dispersion in all four models compared to Callaway's previous Ai Smoke line-up.

The Elyte’s Ai face is a major drawcard, refined following Callaway’s move to integrate more player data in the A.I. design process. It increased the number of “sweet spot” zones tenfold compared to the Ai Smoke, which improves speed and dispersion on off-centre strikes.

Meanwhile, the adoption of a discrete weighting system, rather than a sliding weight track, freed up plenty of mass in the Elyte. It gave Callaway the freedom to create more defined performance between the four driver models. And in a fitting context, it gives our Master Fitters the ability to finetune the balance of the driver head to maximise performance.

Our testing data suggests the new Elyte driver is straighter and longer, from all over the face. Callaway Elyte fairway woods and hybrids complete the Elyte family. Drop in to GBC and see if the Elyte range will suit your swing characteristics.

SRIXON ZXi

The entire Srixon ZXi family — drivers, fairway woods, hybrids and irons — has been an eagerly awaited addition to our “drawers of magic” here at GolfBox Custom.

Srixon irons are well regarded by our team and the new Srixon ZXi4, ZXi5 and ZXi7 irons seem to hit the mark.

Srixon’s new i-Forging technique is a significant advancement for the new iron range. We won’t venture too far into the weeds, but small steel protrusions have added adequate structural strength, which permitted Srixon to use softer steel in the ZXi iron range. And that has translated into a soft-as-butter feel that befits a premium iron.

The Srixon ZXi7 iron is a classic, slim-line, one-piece forged player’s iron built on Srixon’s PureFrame platform. ZXi4 and ZXi5 irons rely on Srixon’s MainFrame technology, a face design that maximises speed and consistency.

The ZXi5 iron is a two-piece forged player’s-distance iron. It’s geared for more forgiveness and distance than the ZXi7 but retains a level of workability and versatility. The ZXi4 is a hollow-bodied forged game-improvement iron that is designed to generate maximum speed and forgiveness.

Srixon’s new ZXi irons all feature a progressive groove pattern. Wider, shallower grooves in the long irons maximise distance while deeper and narrower grooves in the short irons elevate spin and increase control.

Meanwhile, the new Srixon ZXi driver, fairway wood and hybrid line-up is similarly impressive.

Three ZXi driver models ensure no part of the performance spectrum is ignored. The standard ZXi driver offers the boilerplate blend of speed and forgiveness; the ZXi LS driver is the low-spin model; and the ZXi Max is the most forgiving and highest launching driver model.

All three drivers are installed with Srixon’s new i-Flex face, which is constructed from a lighter and more flexible titanium. In partnership with the Rebound Frame chassis, it helps the face rebound quicker and impart extra speed to the ball at impact, kind of like a slingshot.

Like the previous Srixon ZX MkII drivers, the new models are carbon fibre free. It’s a move that makes sense when viewed in the context of Srixon’s new i-Flex/Rebound Frame partnership, which relies on Srixon’s ultra-thin yet strong Star Frame crown for structural support.

The range includes Srixon ZXi fairway woods and ZXi hybrids, which are all available at GolfBox Custom.

TITLEIST GT1

The new Titleist GT1 driver is an intriguing addition to the GT range. It’s a lightweight build that will benefit slower swing speeds. But in the fitting context, it will have a much wider audience.

With the highest MOI and deepest centre of gravity in the GT line-up, the GT1 driver features a performance profile that is different enough to the existing GT2, GT3 and GT4 models. It opens up another avenue for our Master Fitters to match the perfect equipment combination to each individual customer.

In the standard configuration, the GT1 generates a higher launch and the most spin. As our Master Fitters know, some players can actually benefit from more driver spin — particularly those players who have a positive angle of attack. The GT1’s rear weight can also be varied to optimise launch angles and spin rates.

Titleist GT1 fairway woods and GT1 hybrids are also available for custom fitting at GolfBox Custom.
