Cobra’s new DS-Adapt line-up has landed in the fitting draws at GolfBox Custom, heralding the start of the great 2025 equipment influx.
Faster and more fittable is the phrase Cobra is using to describe the DS-Adapt range, which quickly gained the attention of our GolfBox Custom Master Fitters.
Cobra DS-Adapt drivers, fairway woods, hybrids all feature Cobra’s new FutureFit33 hosel. Offering 33 possible loft and lie angle combinations, it makes the DS-Adapt range the most customisable in the game.
Ball speed and forgiveness in the DS-Adapt range has also been elevated, with gains attributed to a new Adaptive Weighting system, upgraded head aerodynamics and a hotter H.O.T. variable thickness face.
Adaptive weighting involves Cobra employing their internal PWR-BRIDGE sporadically to shift the CG forward to boost ball speed and minimise spin in certain models.
However, in other more forgiving models the PWR-BRIDGE is subbed out in favour of discretionary weight, which is positioned low and rearward to boost forgiveness and encourage a higher launch trajectory.

COBRA DS-ADAPT DRIVERS
The DS-Adapt range consists of four driver models.
The Adapt DS LS is the compact low-spin/low launch model while the X is a versatile mid-spin/mid-launch driver. Meanwhile, the DS-Adapt MAX offering has been split into two subcategories.
The MAX-K is a new arrival. It’s the most forgiving and stable driver in Cobra history and features an oversized head profile that boasts an MOI in excess of 10,000 — putting it in the frame with the other 10k driver models in the GolfBox Custom fitting draws. The new MAX-D driver, meanwhile, is a draw-biased driver designed to correct a slice and maximise distance off the tee.
Cobra DS-Adapt drivers are available in 9°, 10.5° and 12°lofts.
COBRA DS-ADAPT FAIRWAY WOODS AND HYBRIDS
Cobra DS-Adapt fairway woods track on a similar path to their driver counterparts, with three models that offer a distinct performance profile.
The DS-Adapt Titanium LS offers driver-like performance. It features the deepest head and multi-material construction, with the body and face constructed from titanium and matched to a carbon fibre crown and tungsten sole. The Titanium LS will generate the highest ball speed and lowest spin in the fairway range.
Set in the middle of the performance bell curve is the DS-AdaptX fairway. A shallower head encourages a higher launch and more spin to provide more accessible performance.
And the DS-Adapt MAX fairway is the most forgiving in the line-up.It will launch higher and its sole weights can be configured to create more draw-bias or extra forgiveness.
Cobra offer DS-Adapt fairway woods in 3W, 3HL, 5W, 7W and 9W lofts.
Meanwhile, the Cobra DS-Adapt hybrid range features a larger head than the previous Cobra Darkspeed hybrid and offers high launching distance and elevated forgiveness. DS-Adapt hybrids are available in six lofts (2H-6H).
COBRA DS-ADAPT IRONS
Cobra’s new game improvement iron offering is split into two models: DS-Adapt irons, and a larger format DS-Adapt MAX model.
Both irons are packed with a tonne of technology inside their hollow-bodied heads. While GolfBox Custom Master Fitters will ultimately determine whether DS-Adapt irons or DS-Adapt MAX irons will suit your game, they are targeted at players in the 10-20+ handicap range, or those with slower swing speeds (particularly the MAX model).
The ball speed gains can be attributed to the irons’ new 360 SPEEDSHELL face insert. Cobra suggest the new face design flexes 23 per cent more at impact, leading to more speed, distance and a higher launch.
Cobra’s PWR-BRIDGE has been optimised in both DS-Adapt iron models to position the centre of gravity low and deep in the head. It encourages an improved launch trajectory and extra distance. And Cobra’s vibration-absorbing foam microspheres offer an improvement in feel and impact acoustics of hollow-bodied heads.
